The biggest music mistakes you can make on your wedding day

Music might seem like the easiest of all the choices that you need to make for your wedding day.

After all, once you find yourself a DJ they should take care of everything.

Whilst this is true, it is important that you, as a couple, are aware of some of the biggest music mistakes that you can make during your wedding celebrations and how you can try to avoid them.

Not playing songs your guests will like

Of course, your wedding day is all about you guys as a couple, but, when it comes to party time, you are going to need your guests to really make things happen.

One way to make sure that this happens is to have tracks lined up with your DJ that your guests are going to love.

If you don’t know the type of music that will get your guests on their feet, then why not add into your RSVP an option for them to request a song that they adore, that way, you can ensure that the DJ has it and that they know to play it during the night.

Sticking to just one genre

There are so many genres of music out there that it doesn’t make sense sticking to just one.

Make sure that you mix things up a little.

Whilst one genre might not be your cup of tea, it is likely to be someone else’s and the main aim of any wedding reception is to make sure that as many people as possible are up on the floor.

Not taking the time to make a do not play list

Are there songs that you as a couple really hate?

If there is then you shouldn’t be afraid to let your DJ know.

Of course, as we have that you should try and have songs that other people are going to want to get up a dance to, but if there are certain songs or bands that you really are not fans of, then don’t be afraid to let your DJ know.

Ignoring the classics

There are some songs out there that are designed to get people up on their feet, this is why they have been featured in wedding playlists for years.

If you are thinking about sorting out your wedding music then why not think about some of those classic party songs, songs that are never going to make the “coolest” lists but that shouldn’t mean that you ignore them completely.

It’s only one night after all, we are sure that you can dance around the Macarena with your Auntie Joan at least once in your life.

As you can see, there is more to the music for your wedding then you may realise.

Think about the tracks that are going to be a hit and those that might be a miss and we can promise you that you will have an evening to remember.
