Everything that you need to know about artificial wedding flowers

When you think of artificial wedding flowers there is a good chance that you think about tacky and cheap looking flowers that could never look as good as the real thing.

Of course, there is something special about real flowers, however, in these modern times, artificial flowers can actually look just as good as the real thing, and in most cases, people won’t even know that they are not.

So, with this in mind, we thought that we would dedicate a blog to everything that you need to know about artificial wedding flowers and whether or not they are going to be right for you.

Why we love artificial wedding flowers

There are a number of reasons why we love artificial flowers and think that they make for a great addition to any wedding day.

The main one has to be cost, real flowers can be expensive, however, artificial ones are much lower in cost, which is ideal for those that are on a tight budget.

Another great thing about artificial wedding flowers is that you can keep them forever, they might get a little dusty and need cleaning off, but they will never wilt and die, meaning that you can always look at them when you want to think about just how great your big day was.

Finally, artificial wedding flowers come in a wide variety of colours and flower types, which means that you can find exactly what you are looking for, no matter the season.

Not only this, but you can match them to the exact shade that you want, even if that flower doesn’t usually come in that colour.

The different types of artificial flowers

Artificial flowers come in a wide range of colours and styles and they are also made from a wealth of materials too.

Silk flowers

One of the most common type of artificial flowers are silk flowers.

Back in the day these flowers were actually made from silk, however, nowadays they are made from nylon or polyester, although they are still known as silk flowers.

These flowers look realistic and you can get silk flowers in almost any type of real flower.

The only problem is that they can feel fake to the touch and the petals can fray over time, which may not look the most realistic after time.

Foam flowers

If price is important to you, then you might want to consider foam flowers.

Foam flowers don’t look too real, however, they are great in large bouquets if you are looking for durable fillers which will bulk up the rest of the flowers and make it look full and beautiful.

Paper flowers

It may sound like a strange idea, but paper flowers are definitely on the rise.

Not only do they look lovely, but they are also eco-friendly, which is something that many couples feel are important.

Paper flowers can look realistic if done right and they not only look great in a bouquet, but also work really well for centrepieces too.

You do need to keep in mind that paper flowers probably won’t last in the rain and they can be delicate too.

Now you know more about artificial flowers, then chances are that you see them in a different light.

Sure, real flowers might be the go-to choice for many couples, but if you want something cost-effective and something different, then you might want to consider whether or not fake flowers are the right choice for you.
