Love your tattoos but not sure they go with your dress? Here is how to cover them up for your big day

Whilst tattoos are becoming more and more popular with people, it seems that not everyone is sure that they want them on show during their wedding day.

This could mean that a bride would pick a dress that she wouldn’t otherwise wear, just to cover up her tattoos.

However, whilst this is a great way to cover up your tattoos, there are some other options out there that you can consider.

So, what are the most popular and how do they work?

Cosmetics

Tattoo camouflage products are becoming one of the most popular ways to cover up any tattoos that you may have.

These creams are heavily pigmented and often waterproof and when applied they will mask any sign of a tattoo that you may have on your skin.

The thing to remember about these particular products is that they can be expensive and they work differently on different skin, so you may need to try a few things first.

Another option is to apply concealer or foundation to the area, however, this may only be suitable for those smaller tattoos with lighter colours.

One of the main things that you need to consider is that these products, whilst often waterproof, may, over time leak and run as the day goes on.

This could lead to streaky patches or perhaps even staining your wedding dress.

Which is the last thing that you are going to want to happen.

Tattoo covers

If you want a quick and easy way to cover your tattoos, without having to worry about any staining or streaks, then a tattoo cover may work for you.

They are stick on patches which are easy to stick onto smaller tattoos and hide them away.

They come in a variety of skin shades, so you are going to be sure to find one that works for your skin tone.

You need to be careful when applying these cover as they can come off if not properly applied, also, they are not going to be suitable for larger areas of tattoo.

Clothes

Possibly the easiest way to cover up any tattoos is with the clothes that you wear.

If you are a fan of long sleeved wedding dresses, or like the idea of wearing a jacket, then these are both great options for covering over tattoos in certain areas.

Higher backed dresses can also work for tattoos on your back and, if you want something that you can remove for the evening (when you don’t mind your ink being on show) then you could always opt for a cape or a shawl to wrap around yourself instead.

Of course, one thing that you can do is to just embrace your tattoos and show them off.

After all, you live with them the rest of the time and you can look just as beautiful and graceful with them during your wedding day as you do the rest of the time.
