Celebrity First Dance Songs

The first dance is one of the most anticipated parts of any wedding reception.

It is the time when the bride and groom takes to the floor to enjoy their first dance as husband and wife.

It is often the part of the night that causes plenty of smiles, and lots of tears, especially thanks to the tear-jerking song choices.

The first dance means that all eyes are on the bride and groom, something that normal bride and grooms are not used to.

Celebrities, in comparison, are much more comfortable with this idea.

So, what do they do for their first dance?

Well, you may be surprised that they often go for something just like us normal folk.

We have put together some different celebrity couple first dance songs, just so you can compare them to your own choice, or songs that you have seen at weddings where you have been a guest.

Kim Kardashian and Kayne West

It probably comes as no surprise that Kim and Kayne had more than one first dance to keep all eyes on them.

However, one of their most romantic and rather lavish songs was All of Me by amazing singer John Legend.

Possibly not that surprising as many weddings around the world have featured this song, but these two mega stars went one step further and had John himself serenading them as they danced!

Kate Middleton and Prince William

It seems that live performances are a popular addition to celebrity weddings.

The future king and his bride opted for Ellie Goulding’s cover of Your Song at their 2011 wedding, sang by the lady herself.

Joel Madden and Nicole Richie

Not every first dance song has to be a romantic tribute to the couple.

Sometimes it is a great chance to enjoy a beautiful and uplifting song.

Something that Joel Madden and Nicole Richie decided on when they danced to What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong for their first dance.

Beyoncé and Jay Z

It may seem slightly egocentric to dance to your own song, but when you are one of the biggest music couples in the world, why not?

There isn’t much that is known about the wedding of Jay Z and Beyoncé, but it is known that they decided to signify their love by dancing to their Crazy in Love hit!

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum

We love this amazing US couple, they always seem that they are so in love and seem so happy and relaxed with each other.

Therefore, for us it came as no surprise that their Malibu wedding featured a beautifully relaxed first dance to Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole.

Not sure on the first dance that it is right for you?

Why not speak to your wedding DJ and see if they can have make any suggestions?

They may have the perfect song for you both to choose.
